Motus, under the co-artistic direction of Hélène Ducharme and Mathilde Addy-Laird, boasts a group of creative women: Sounia Balha and Ximena Ferrer, as well as illustrator Pauline Stive and puppet designer Pavla Mano, adapting three traditional tales about The Wolf! Welcome to the show: Little lockdown legends.
You’ve heard of Little Red Riding Hood, The Three Little Pigs, and The Wolf and the Seven Little Goats, right? Of course you have! Well now it’s time to experience them anew… with a little pandemic twist! Don’t worry – the Wolf has been a constant presence in fairy tales for centuries!
Each of our three actor-puppeteers performs a different tale, playing and manipulating all its characters! Welcome to toy theater (paper theater)! We’ve combined the inventiveness and creativity of an illustrator and puppet maker with just a touch of craziness in the lyrics and staging – bringing a playful world to life, filled with metaphors and unexpected twists!
Each tale runs for about 25 minutes, intended for an audience age 5 and up, and we have developed a range of performance styles and approaches that maintain and respect current health and safety protocols. When you work in street theatre, you can adapt to any situation!
One table per tale – and that‘s it! Everyone is safe, and everything happens on, around, above or under the table! The audience is in front, seated comfortably and safely distanced!

Nanabush, une petite fille bien décidée à grandir, habite un pays où la neige s’étend à perte de vue. Pour la première fois aujourd’hui, son frère Kino et sa soeur Tya acceptent de l’amener en expédition de chasse. Elle devra toutefois rester dans le wigwam pour garder le campement. Bien qu’un peu déçue par cette mission en apparence trop facile, Nanabush sait qu’elle a encore beaucoup à apprendre avant d’aller elle-même chasser le caribou. (46 minutes)

Jean-Frédéric Messier est directeur artistique du théâtre Momentum. Il a écrit et mis en scène plusieurs de ses spectacles, dont Oestrus, Helter Skelter et Nuits blanches . Auteur dramatique, il a signé, notamment, Au moment de sa disparition , lauréat du Masque du meilleur texte original.

Réal de Montréal est un méchant garnement. Une nuit, Réal se heurte à une victime plus puissante que les autres. Un lutin le transforme en petit homme pour le punir d’un mauvais coup de trop. Commence alors un long périple pour Réal… Alors qu’un convoi de bernaches traverse le ciel, Réal est accidentellement entraîné dans la course par Nora, une « goélande » qui rêve de voler aussi haut que les oiseaux qu’elle admire. Réal découvrira avec elle plusieurs régions du Québec. Il sera confronté au monde, à la géographie, à ses habitants et aux histoires qu’il porte en lui. (63 minutes)

Rébecca Déraspe est auteure de plusieurs pièces jouées et traduites à travers le monde. Elle a remporté le prix de la critique « meilleur spectacle jeune public » pour sa pièce Je suis William . En 2020, elle a été lauréate du Prix Michel-Tremblay pour sa pièce Ceux qui se sont évaporés.
