BAOBAB AT THE BOURSE RIDEAU EVENT
A full-length presentation is scheduled on Tuesday, February 17 at 9:15 a.m. at Théâtre des Gros Becs in Quebec City.

A new year and a new website
With the creation of Baobab, it was high time to update our Website. However, we also decided to use this opportunity to revamp the Website from head to toe for the new year.
The celebrations of the 350th anniversary of the city of Longueuil, during which our Bulles opened, also gave us the chance to meet the Pixel Communications team, with whom we are now working. We have asked them to take care of our Website. Come in and have a look at it:

Unveiling the
Choeur de baobabs mural
CHOEUR DE BAOBABS
Inspired by the remarkable work of two artists, Longueuil-based visual artist Michel Beaucage and Senegalese painter Ismaïla Manga, who worked on the set design of the production, this mural project allowed a number of children to emulate their techniques that both evoke the mark of time. Ismaïla Manga’s technique combines organic material, such as rust and salt, to represent baobabs on the raw-cotton canvas and that of Michel. Beaucage uses the show-through quality of light on rice paper to portray the variety of emotions that fill us. The sketches on kraft paper call to mind the spontaneity of the encounter. Once joined together in alternating strips, the final arrangement also brings to mind the Malian Dogon bogolan cloths.
This mural, titled CHOEUR DE BAOBABS, reflects the great creativity and originality of both the artists and children who produced it. This unique creation will now go on tour since it accompanies the Baobab production and will be presented to many young audiences at home and abroad.

Bulles at the Coups de Théâtre Festival,
a success that has spead
far and wide…
Our production Bulles, légendes d’hiver pour micro-marionettes programmed in November at Les Coups de Théâtre festival was as much a hit in Montreal as it was in Longueuil when it opened in December 2007.
Both families and local and international presenters defied the cold winds to step into our heated bubbles that were set up on the Place des Arts esplanade.
One thing is sure, Bulles is on a roll!
